I Need to Turn in My Beauty Junkie Card…

When you are a beauty junkie, your bible is none other than Allure magazine.  It is THE magazine for hair, make-up, beauty, skin, etc.  And when they come out with a list of the MUST-HAVE beauty products, the whole world takes notice.  And when they come up with a list of the top 50 beauty products you need to try before you die, you definitely take notice.  And the real beauty junkies will see it as a quiz in terms of their beauty prowess.  And I must sadly say that if I were to grade myself on their recent “quiz”, I would only score 20%.

How can that be?????  I’m such a junkie!  Friends, colleagues and clients come to me for beauty advice.  I make a living as a make-up artist for criminy sakes.  Yet out of the top 50 products to try before you die, I have only tried 10.  In my defense, my work is named Classy on a Budget, so purchasing that Creme de la Mer is a bit much for me and at least I’ve heard of all of the items on the list, but still…sad, depressing.

So, here’s what I’ve decided to do about it.  I’m going to list below the ones I’ve already tried and by the end of  this year, my goal is to try all of the items on the list.  I may only have a 20% grade right now on the test, but by year’s end, I’ll be 100% baby!

Here’s the products I have already tried:

Chanel No 5 (currently own it!!!)
L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray (makes my scalp break out, but I use it on every client for work)
Crest 3D White Professional Effects Whitestrips (before I got my teeth fixed, I tried EVERYTHING to whiten them)
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (come on, who HASN’T tried this one!)
Beauty Blender (loved it until it came time to clean it)
Lip Smackers (best part of this product was introducing my 7 year old daughter to it!)
Clarisonic Classic Sonic Skin Cleansing System (currently own it!!!)
CND Shellac (used to use it all the time until I found out how cruddy gel manicures make your natural nails)
Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (not a fan of printed/patterned nails, but on the rare occasion these are the BOMB!)
Chanel Le Crayon Sourcils Precision Brow Definer (currently own it in 2 colors in case I change hair colors)

Here’s the link for you to see how you did.  Post your number in the comments.
