Blend Your Way to Younger Skin!

Today I’m going to share one of my favorite anti-aging products that I use at least 4 times a week and it’s super yummy!  It’s my breakfast smoothie which is packed with so many super yummy fresh ingredients that benefit not only your health but also your skin!  Being your skin is the largest organ in your body, anything you put into your body has a direct impact on your skin.

Here’s a list of the ingredients I put into my smoothies and what they are good for beauty-wise.

Fresh berries: Today it was raspberries and strawberries.  Some days it’s blueberries and blackberries.  It all depends on what’s in season.  All of them are rich in antioxidants which help to protect the skin in addition to loads of vitamin C which helps produce collagen.  Strawberries even have ellagic acid which also promotes collagen and elastin creation.

Grapes: These also have vitamin C to protect the skin and produce collagen.  Grapes also help to remove toxins from the body and of course people are constantly talking about resveratrol which has been shown to protect and rejuvenate the skin.

Bananas:  These are high in vitamin C as well as vitamin B6 and manganese which are powerful anti-oxidents.  They also have a high water content (75%) which helps the cells stay hydrated.

Spinach:  Many anti-oxidents also in addition to vitamin B which has been shown to help protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Flax Oil:  This has lots of lignans in it which is a powerhouse anti-oxident.  There’s also lots of fiber which helps with reducing bloat (reduce bloat, you reduce stretching the skin.  Reduce stretching the skin and you reduce stretch marks!).

Honey:  Honey is good for you inside and out.  Outside it’s a great hydrator.  Inside it’s full of anti-oxidents.

Lemon Juice:  Lemons are a super food and with their high content of vitamin C, they really help support collagen creation.

And of course water which we should all be drinking more of.

Then I put everything into my blender of choice: the Nutribullet.

I prefer the Nutribullet Magicbullet because I put the whole fruit into it and pulverize it into little tiny pieces.  Rather than juice the fruit and waste most of the vital and important nutrients, this blender take the skin, seeds and fruit and blends it into a smooth drink allowing my body to fully absorb all of the nutrients.

Here’s all my pretty food in it’s blender cup.  So bright and colorful!!!

Once the concoction is blended all find and smooth, into a travel cup it goes and I sip it while I get ready for whatever my day has in store for me.  I have more energy and I know that I’m supplying my skin with the nutrients it needs to look beautiful.
