For any beauty junkie out there and I mean serious beauty junkie, there is only one holy land, one mecca and that is the phenomenon known as the French pharmacy.
The iconic green illuminated sign.

It’s like your drugstore here in the States, but on some serious crack. You can get EVERYTHING you need to remedy ANY beauty ailment. Women dream about French pharmacies. When they go to France on vacation, they bring an extra empty suitcase to bring back their goods. Supermodels, top make-up artists and hair stylists have been known to “smuggle” in the good stuff from the French pharmacies and only use them on their best clients.
So, as you can imagine, when I was in Belgium last year (a mere two hours by car from Paris), I just HAD to stop by one of those famous beauty havens illuminated by the green cross. And of course, I was in heaven!
Yup, that’s me, Jeanette, in gay Pah-ree!

For beauty products in general, I LOVE little travel kits. Their size is perfect for trying out tons of new products without breaking the bank. While in the French pharmacy, I came across the coolest little travel kit by Nuxe Paris. It had an assortment of beauty products such as a cleanser, moisturizer, eye cream, and a facial oil. So, of course I bought it!!! I bought a bunch of other things, but that little kit by Nuxe has completely transformed my skin! The facial oil in particular. I used up every last little drop of it, even going so far as to use a q-tip to get out the last little bit and was thoroughly depressed when my lovely little glass bottle was bone-dry empty. That is, until I googled it and TAH-DAH! It’s available in the US!!!!!!!!
Huile Prodigieuse. It’s AMAZING!!!!

I promptly went to their us website and ordered a giant bottle. This stuff is amazing! It’s official name is Huile Prodigieuse. It’s a dry oil that you can use on your face, body, even on your hair. It’s actually the #1 oil in France. It is made using six Precious Plant Oils including macadamia, hazelnut, borrage, almond, camellia and St. John’s Wort. It soaks into my skin absolutely beautifully and makes it feel super soft, super hydrated, super silky without the heavy feeling of a cream or oil.
And the fragrance…OMG!!! The smell is beyond captivating. It instantly transports you to your happy place (which for me is France). The fragrance is so popular that you can actually purchase candles and perfume that smell just like it (yup, I own both!)
Since using Huile Prodigieuse, I’ve also started using a few other products of theirs and again, have not been disappointed. Their Micellar Cleansing Water for Face, Eyes and Lips is made with rose petals and takes off my eye make-up without irritating my eyes. I’ve also tried their 24 Hr Soothing and Rehydrating Fresh Mask and have promptly fallen in love with that too. Next on my list to try is their body wash and body lotion.
Have you ever been to a French pharmacy before? What treasures did you find?
I do not work for Nuxe nor did I receive any sort of compensation for this blog article (although, if someone from Nuxe is reading this… 🙂 hint, hint.)
